History of the Urban Hillbilly Salon
The doors of the Urban Hillbilly Salon opened on June 1st, 2009 in Prineville, OR. Kristina Sweeney and Ashley Kimler, both local, jumped right into the business, poured their hearts into it, and you can feel it when you walk in! Even before the Official Grand Opening, held on July 1st, 2009, (covered by the Central Oregonian of Prineville) people were commenting on the atmosphere of the salon. "It's nice to see people so happy and friendly," one Prineville client commented. The Bend Bulletin hilighted the Prineville Salon in their September news article, entitled "Punny Names."

In November of 2009, the salon started it's own organic shampoo line, Urban Hillbilly Organics; the shampoos and conditioners are bottled right in the salon, in Prineville, Oregon! They are currently up for purchase online and in the salon.
